This has been the hardest post to write in the book of Numbers. Probably because I’m not a very generous person. I spoke in this week’s video about the three different ways one can be generous. Like all of us, I’m better with some than others. I’m typically pretty generous with my treasure. I live at home and don’t really have any bills so I don’t mind giving money to those in need. I always tithe 10 and give to an second collections when I can. I also love giving to the local women’s health center. They do a lot of good work, especially considering there is a Planned Parenthood right around the corner. The things they do in my community, especially in post-abortion counseling and care, is so important. We also do collections for under funded churches in the city or around the world. My home parish has some partner parishes where we help raise money for them. I’m happy to do that.
When it comes to talent, I’m not really sure what my talents are. I think I have a talent for talking, I can talk A LOT, always have. Although I’m not sure if this is a God given talent, or the test of patience for the people around me. I do have a lot of words and I have used them to start a blog and YouTube channel. Of course, it is a goal that these things will help me earn a living, not necessarily for purely philanthropic purposes.
Finally, there’s time. This one is by far my hardest one. I’m an introvert and one of my primary love languages is quality time. I have found I have a difficult time receiving love so I’m very cautious…selfish, about how I spend my time and who I spend it with. Although I’m a talker, I’m not much for social interactions. I’m not the person anyone calls when they are going through a rough patch, I am not the girl who will take you out for a cup of tea to discuss your breakup. I think this is the one I’d like to work on. In general, I’ve been wanting to do better with my socialization and being a friend to people. It’s a struggle, but I know it’s important.
Any tips on how I might be more generous with my time?

I’ve written a devotional for the book of Numbers. In it, I share reflections for each chapter of the book along with a memory verse, a contemplation question, and space to journal. If you’re interested in that book, check it out below!
